Dear Anhembi Morumbi faculty and students,

For the last three weeks you have been able to read the comments and impressions of the lead teachers, of the GIHE hospitality program, during their visit to Switzerland. Lots of pictures with smiling faces and interesting narrative comments were placed to give an impression of their experience. But let me say that the visit to Switzerland was not just a culinary experience or a sight seeing trip. Yes, we have tried to make their visit interesting and diverse, but rest assured for the last three weeks all of them were working really hard to make their visit to Switzerland worthwhile. Every day all of them had to observe not only their own subject classes but many other classes to get an impression of how we deliver our courses here at GlHE. Then long meetings with many of our teachers, academic director, dean, program managers, head of research, librarian, internship and career officer, student services manger, service instructors, executive chef, etc. etc. Then not to forget all the workshops and sessions for student centered learning, Bloom’s taxonomy, course review and evaluation process, student attitude and behavior assessment, craft based learning observation, etc. etc. Just to summarize the scope of activities they were engaged. Then in the evening they had to read and digest all the information given to be able to have follow-up meetings with all the te4achers and collaborators listed above. I am confident to assume that it was an intensive visit and am certain that the whole team returned back to Anhembi Morumbi with a large package of information and lots of new ideas. It was for everybody truly a pleasure to have the Anhembi Morumbi lead teachers here at GIHE and share common interests and experiences. This visit has brought both schools closer and our faculty and students are looking forward to a close collaboration and possible joint projects.

Wishing all of you a good and successful year.

Warmest wishes from Switzerland,

Dr. Helmut Waser
